Our Trip to London

July 1, 2013

Our trip to London was so much fun! Other than the obvious reason, we had so much fun just hanging out in town, walking around the beautiful city, and exploring the neighborhoods. We spent our days roaming the city and nights hanging in our awesome AirBNB flat (highly recommend)! Just had a blasty blast! Here are some of my favorite photos:

A Beautiful Beach Wedding {Hopefully} on the Horizon

June 24, 2013

So, many of you may know, but some not. I am getting married! AHHH! It’s so exciting! Breon and I have been together for 3 years and I am excited to spend the rest of my life with him.

When we first got engaged, I was so excited because he captured it all on his glass. I must admit, I don’t remember the moment at all and if not for this video I would probably never really know how I reacted. I was just so shocked (also by the fact that Huff Po, Fast Company, and Mashable posted it to their websites).

Fast forward back to state side and reality, we are in planning mode. Both of us want to get the majority of the planning done soon. We both love to plan but would love to have the details solidified as soon as possible so we can just enjoy everything. We have been talking to wedding planners and looking at blogs! It’s been very fun!

I have been scouring pinterest for inspiration and keep finding myself on inspiration overload. There is just so much you can do (and so much money you can spend).

We are trying to keep this event as simple and casual as possible (and budet-friendly), as both of us realize this is about our marriage not just about a wedding.

But the wedding will be awesome, of course. 😉

Which brings me to my point. For you lovely ladies getting engaged, take a look at Style Me Pretty! It’s a fantastic website full of advice, inspiration, diy projects, and vendors. I have found it to be very helpful thus far. My favorite part: MOODBOARDS!

I won’t be doing a lot of moodboaring because I know I will just go crazy and never decide on colors, a look & feel, etc. So I have decided to just get a feel down. I love this one:

So, what do you think?

Should we do natural sea colors, like Khaki and Blue or something fun like coral and teal?

I LOVE OPINIONS!

Current Status: Hacked and Busy

April 21, 2013

hacked-busy

Hey guys.

I know it’s been a while since I have posted anything and there are two reasons: hacked and busy. I have been working my butt off trying to fix my site over the last few weeks. Someone from Anonymous hacked it. I don’t know why they would come after my little website but they did and I was very sad. I am just glad that they didn’t get my database because I didn’t want to lose all of my hard work! Alas, they did not. And now I will be backing up my website often! Special thanks to Breon for helping me out (I still don’t understand databases).

If you are a blogger or have a website, I highly recommend backing up so that you don’t have to start from scratch which is sorta what I decided to do (minus using my old database).

Little Ms. Busy Pants

And on top of all that nonsense, I have been extremely busy. I have been working full-time and doing a lot of side work with design and websites. I am currently working towards opening a boutique design co here in the cities which will start out small and then hopefully grow. I am super excited because I love doing branding, design, and really, anything creative. I hope to work with bloggers, local businesses, and entrepreneurs who need a brand that will take them to the next level.

Anyways other than that, I haven’t been doing a whole lot. We leave for london in a month which is really exciting and I have a list of fun stuff I want to do there but if you have any ideas, you should let me know. Anyways, it’s time to get back to work! I hope you have a lovely week!

Review: Ahnu Sequoia II Hiking Shoes

October 27, 2012

As winter draws near, I am getting ready to put away my hiking shoes for the year. Luckily, I don’t have to do that quite yet because I am going to Boulder to visit my brother at the beginning of November and I am hoping to get in some hiking with ma mum!

I was recently sent* a pair of Ahnu Hiking Boots, Sequoia II to try on and test out. Read on to learn all about my experience with them so far.

Short and Sweet

These extremely comfortable hiking shoes fit true to size and help support your feet during a hike or just a busy day of walking around. The Vibram bottoms complete the shoes grip to the ground. It’s amazing, no slipage! If you are looking for a solid ladies hiking shoe, check it out!

Ahnu Sequoia II Review

I must admit, my hiking isn’t hardcore. I don’t tend to go to large mountains and just start climbing (I would love to do that but I am limited by the lack of Mountains in Minnesota). So my experience with these shoes are not taken to the “max.” However, when walking with these shoes I noticed how extremely comfortable they were. I was able to go further because of the cushioning. And, to be honest, I feel like I could just wear these everyday (though I doubt they are professional enough).

As I walked through our local hiking area, I noticed how much grip or “gription” I had. I never once felt like I was wearing regular tennis shoes. I loved the feeling and the confidence they brought me.

I would recommend anyone try these shoes as they are very comfortable and that is one of my upmost concerns when hiking. Here or in the mountain regions of Colorado!

Pros

  • Comfortable
  • Vibram Outsole
  • True to Size
  • Easy to put on

Cons

  • Cost
  • Color Options

Overall Feelings

If you are looking for a lightweight, comfortable hiking boot this one is for you. Ahnu markets this shoe towards a “lightweight hiker” and I couldn’t agree more. If you are a looking for something a little more “hardcore,” check out their website!

*Disclaimer: Ahnu sent me the shoes to test out. All views discussed are my own.
