What I Learned and Accomplished in 2011

Have you ever taken time to look back at what you have accomplished, learned, and done in an entire year? I love taking stock of not only what I learned, but where I traveled, who I spent a lot of time with, and what I was doing.

I looked over my calendar from 2011 from January to December from last year. First of all, I can’t believe how packed my schedule is (and I don’t mean for that to come out hoity toity)! I was surprised at the amount of alerts set up to remind me to pay rent, register for events, and upload blogs. So what did I do? I traveled…a lot (and that makes me smile).

Travels

Las Vegas (January)
Ocqueoc, MI (January)
Florida (March)
Park Rapids, MN (May)
Washington DC (September)
Boston (October)
Cape Cod (October)
New York (October)

What I Learned

If someone is yelling in the street and it’s dark and your in Long Island City, just keep walking. We stayed at a cheap hotel in NYC, and man was the neighborhood sketchy. Breon and I planned our walk from the subway to the hotel with much preparedness.

If you stick with something and put hard work into it, you will succeed. I lost 50lbs this past year. And I have kept it off since. NO, I didn’t do a diet. I just stopped eating so much and started working out regularly. I am currently working on my last tier of 10 more pounds.

I am a morning person and NOT a night owl. So with that being said, any musicians want to perform before 10 PM? I do love seeing shows, especially in small settings, but I can’t keep my eyes open to watch.

Planning events is fun but very difficult. If you have never planned an event, you should. It teaches you organization and plenty of patience skills. The event went over smoothly but it wasn’t easy.

What I Accomplished

I started this here blog!
I jumped out of a plane, again.
I set up a complete marketing program for a local rally.
I made 4 infographics that were loved by my boss and co-workers.
I took over 25,000 photos, most of which ended up in the AF yearbook.

Overall, I loved 2011. And 2012 will be even more awesomer. :)
