Infographics: A Must for Your Next Presentation!

If you are looking to impress your boss, client, or teacher, look no further. Adding infographics to your presentation will guarantee you attention!

People love graphs and charts… and not just because they are pretty. We like the idea of being able to connect with information in front of us. If you can present something confusing in a way that someone else will understand it…GREAT SUCCESS.

But it’s not just about putting your stats into powerpoint or creating a stock chart from Excel. It’s about communicating in a visual way. We are a visual society. I mean, look at instagram and pinterest growth in just the past two years!

Adding an infographic to your website or presentation will help you clearly explain what you have to offer and how other have seen results.

The best part of all of this is, you don’t need to have expensive design software to do it!

 

A Few Tips

  • Keep it Simple – Find 3-4 really strong numbers and create a way to visualize them in your presenation. You don’t want to confuse people.
  • Double Check! – Make sure your stats are accurate because people are going to want sources for your information. Don’t under any circumstance make up information!
  • Pick and Stick with 2-3 colors. If you are creating the graphic yourself. Don’t go color crazy. Use your brand colors or find 3 you like and stick with them. The same goes for fonts!

Visua.ly is a free website that allows you to create your own infographics with their easy to use tools. You can even use a pre-made template.

Pik to Chart is another place to create your graphic but this site has a presenter in mind and will help you create a cohesive presentation.
