I came up with this brilliant idea this past weekend. Okay so maybe someone else has already done it but I thought it was pretty neat and a great way to divvy up household tasks. See around here, stuff gets messy. I will admit it, sometimes I am lazy and a mess compiles. I think that happens to most busy people nowadays.
Anyways, onto the great idea. Instead of creating a “honey-do list,” I wrote down the list of everything that needed to be done today. Then I told B-Man my little plan!
Fantasy Family (or Couple) Chores
Step One: Check out the list, in your mind pick your “top picks.” Also, if your family is competitive maybe add a little incentive for whomever gets their chores done (well) first.
Step Two: Flip a coin or play rock-paper-scissors for who gets to pick first.
Step Three: Each person picks a chore and you go back and forth until every chore is taken.
Step Four: Clean house (sigh).
This works out best because the work is then tagged to a specific person and they are responsible for doing their chore. I love this new method because it’s fair and fun.
We used a white board but I created an awesome printable for you to document your chores on that can easily hang on the kitchen fridge!
