If you are getting ready to make your fall shopping trip, you have come to the right place. I am too. And of course, I want to know what all the hot trends will be this year. So, what do I do? Google it! And what I found, helped me none. Zilch. Zero. Yuck.
According to Elle, this is what we have to look forward to this fall. What I am taking away from this is that we are going to need to spend a ton of money on clothes that resemble those of the Hunger Games.
I don’t know if I have said this to you before but I like to cut through the stuff on the runway and get trends that is actually matter to most of us not living in New York with unlimited budgets.
What are the trends then?
Blocking—of the Color
This trend is again transitioning so don’t give your goods to Goodwill yet! Find neutral colors because color is “out” this fall. But, psh, I say if you like color, go for it! This dress from Loft is one of my favorites, with all the right fall colors!
Drop down and give me 20!
Military style is back again this year. With this style you will want to focus on getting pieces that have neutral colors which is good for your other wardrobe items. You can mix and match with a cute vest or jacket and patterned button up.
Ivy League
Collared necklines, pencil skirts, black eyeglasses, and knee high socks are the marks of the prepsters that walk through the ivy league doors of Harvard, Yale and Columbia. Embody this trend with a lovely collared shirt and skinny khakis, and comfy boots. Grab your navy blue peacoat on those chilly days!
This outfit from J.Crew is perfect for the working woman who still wants to look polished and preppy!
Pep Pep Peplum!
This trend will follow into the fall. If you purchased a peplum top or dress, pair it with a nice blazer and your favorite skinny jeans for an amazing date night look. If you haven’t gotten your peplum on, you should!
Get Comfy With It
What trends don’t talk about often is those casual and comfortable clothes. This look is one of my favorite go-to looks and is very practical. I absolutely love this outfit from Loft for those weekend days at the apple orchard or outdoor concert!
What are you looking forward to this fall?
