Nike Training – Free
This app is one of my personal favorites. There are workouts ranging from 15 – 45 minutes that involve body weight exercises. When you complete workouts, you earn points. These points unlock celebrity workouts that are intense but burn calories like crazy. The interface and the app itself are plain awesome. This is a must have app for weight loss!
Runkeeper – Free
If you walk, run, or cycle outside this app is hands down my favorite. It allows you to track distance and location, calories burned, time spent, mph, and more! You can choose to have a coach tell you when you have gone a certain distance. And you can listen to your own playlists while this awesome program runs in the background. I seriously love this app and it has been invaluable to my workout regimen.
MyFitnessPal – Free
If you are trying to lose weight, tracking your activity and food intake is super important. If you are looking for a free program, myfitnesspal is one of my favorites. If you are an Anytime Fitness member, my favorite (I’m biased) is Anytime Health. In fact, Anytime Health is what I used to lose 50 lbs last year. So in the end, I don’t care what program you use, but it’s important you remember calories in vs. calories out. And tracking what you eat and what you burn will be a huge help to you!
The Eatery - Free
Learn what grade your meal is by simply snapping an image of what you are eating. This app doesn’t count calories but merely helps you make better food choices. You get a score on a scale from 1 – 100. It also has a social aspect that allows you to share your food and stay accountable for your eating habits. This would be a nutritionists dream! Also share ideas for meal choices at specific venues! This app would be great in conjunction with a diet tracking app like MyFitnessPal or Anytime Health!
C25K Free- Free
Running is a great form of cardiovascular exercise. I must admit that I love this program because it slowly gets your body used to running. This app is great because it is (a) free, (b) syncs with your music, and (c) it’s social. You can share your progress with your facebook and twitter friends. This program is perfect for beginners because it only calls you to run 3 days a week! If you are ready to get into that bikini by spring break, check this out!
